"Logansteno: Bought a VW?" (logansteno)

Just a reminder:
Which is why I'm looking at old BMWs again. Old stick shift BMWs.
I've already told my parents I want my next car to be a manual. An old, airbagless BMW might be a stretch though.

i miss my e34. Slowest hunk of junk and i really could of done without the headaches. Live is too short to be a young enthusiasts forever. It was a rad car, but I can't do the old BMW thing again. I kept that baby super cleeean! All the way to 416+K miles.

I need to send this to my dad, who I caught looking at a Nissan Maxima a few days ago.

Oh hell no. Anything but a Maxima.

At some point, I will share with Oppo the strongly worded text conversation I had with him.
Admittedly, the Maxima is a fine, well built, and very fast car (0-60 in 5.8 seconds). But as I said to my dad, part of reason he bought the last five or so cars he bought as opposed to a mainstream competitor was because they were different and cool. No car you could find on an Enterprise lot belongs in our garage, IMO. It can be cheap, but it can't be boring.

Have you driven the latest Maxima? granted, the CVT is a pain, but in ''manual mode'' it's surprisingly nimble. That chassis is well sorted.
Plus, it's comfortable, it looks good (opinion) and it's fast.

I'm aware that it drives well and had mostly good characteristics. They're great cars. But personally, I find them to be a little beige and boring.
